Phoenix Dancong Oolong is a single bush tea native to Phoenix Mountain in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province. Our Dancong is harvested at an elevation of 400m by hand on Wudong Mountain, known to produce the best dancongs due to its abundant red clay soil with its mineral content, and the presence of older tea trees.
The Duck Shit Iced Phoenix Dancong was harvested in October 2022 from trees approximately 60 yrs in age. The tea has been lightly oxidized and lightly roasted, allowing for the intense floral aromas to remain. The initial sensation you intake is a big fruit fragrance, followed by the scent of flowers followed by a smooth mineral finish. When compared to the Magnolia Iced Phoenix Dancong, the tea liquor is more nuanced and complex than the Magnolia Iced Phoenix Dancong, due to the higher oxidation level. A bit more subtle but every bit as enjoyable!
The fresh fragrance of this tea is incredible and is a must try for lovers of dancong. This particular harvest is called "iced" because it's the last harvest of the year, near the winter. This particular harvest is not suited to heavy roasting or oxidation and is known for its incredible aromas and smooth taste. The yield for winter teas is also comparatively smaller, compared to other harvests.
