Shi Feng Premium Long Jing (Dragonwell) Green Tea - 2022 Ming Qian Harvest

Dragonwell (Long Jing) was once a tribute tea (gift given to the imperial court) and is still considered one of the 10 great teas of China. Shi Feng (translated "Lion's Peak") is in the beautiful West Lake area in Zhejiang Province, China and is the birthplace of the highest quality dragonwell tea.

The Ming Qian harvest is a limited period pre-spring rains in 2022. In China, Ming Qian harvest teas are considered among the best quality and are given as gifts to friends. We had the excellent opportunity to secure a small batch of this limited premium tea from Shi Feng (vs West Lake area).

The batch we bought this year has a more intense nutty, roasted bean aroma than the Xi Hu Premium Dragonwell we purchased in 2021. There are aromas of melon, sweet hay and some minerality in this tea. This year's harvest is medium bodied and has a lingering smooth & creamy aftertaste. If you are a lover of green tea, now is the time to be drinking this special spring tea in order to enjoy the freshest aromas of a tea "just plucked"!
