2015 Early Spring Ripe Puerh - Bulang Mountain, Yun Qingxiang 200yr Arbor

Shou puerh is also known as "ripe" fermented black tea specifically from the Big Leaf cultivar in Yunnan Province, China. This particular cake is from the Menghai area, and is sold under the Yun QingXiang brand name in China. Yun QingXiang translates loosely to "Cloud Clear Fragrance" or "Cloud Pure Fragrance," evoking poetic imagery of the misty, high-altitude regions where premium Pu-erh tea is grown in Yunnan Province, China.

The tea leaves were harvested in March 2015 (early spring) from the choicest leaves of centuries old trees (Gushu) at an altitude of 1200m on Bulang Mountain, universally acknowledged as one of the premier puerh mountains in Yunnan.

This particular tea was very popular when we had our retail store in Chinatown NYC. The tea has an earthy, wild mountain aroma and rich flavor that "makes a person's mouth water". The brewed tea is both dense and smooth. Puerh harvested in early spring uses more buds and tender leaves, resulting in tea with stronger and more enduring flavor & fragrance.

If you want to try a ripe puerh that seems to match the idea of "quiet luxury", this particular puerh is worth trying. It is incredibly rich and has many layers and lasts for many, many steeps.

Shou puerh is a probiotic tea and is excellent for digestive health and for warming the body. It steeps very strong and provides multiple pours per serving.

We break the cake into "fragments" for our customers to try. Each fragment can be broken up further into 3g or ~1 tsp servings.

If you are interested in purchasing the entire cake, please contact us via email: sunsorganicgarden@gmail.com. Each cake is 350g in net weight, which is the standard size for a ripe puerh cake.
