Honey Black

Honey Black Tea is also known as Mixiang Black Tea in Taiwan. It is a black tea with the complexity of an oolong and is hand harvested at a plucking standard of 1 bud, 2 tender leaves.

In the summer, after the rain, small leafhoppers will come to bite tea leaves, and cause an enzymatic reaction that results in the natural honey, osmanthus and sugarcane aromas of the tea leaf. Once brewed, the tea liquor is amber in color and will not have a bitter taste even after multiple steeps.

The tea comes from an organic tea garden located in Sanxia, New Taipei District in Taiwan, the same area where we get our Taiwanese Dragonwell and Bi Luo Chun. If you haven't tried a black tea from Taiwan, Honey Black is one of the best and it is quite unique and a worthy addition to any fine black tea collection.
