Phoenix Dancong Oolong is a single bush tea native to Phoenix Mountain in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province. This particular Dancong is harvested at an elevation of 400m by hand on Wudong Mountain, known to produce the best Dancongs due to its abundant red clay soil with its mineral content, and the presence of older tea trees.
Da Wu Ye, directly translated "large dark leaf" was harvested this Spring 2023 from trees approximately 40 yrs in age. The tea is so named because of the size and appearance of the tea leaves. The tea has been 50% oxidized and lightly roasted 2x, bringing out the strong floral aromas inherent to the tea. This tea has a nice lingering smooth finish with a light nutty taste.
No sprays, pesticides or fertilizers were used to produce this tea.
